Caesars Foundation of Floyd County Awards Transformative Grant to Benefit Children

VIPS is incredibly grateful to the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County for the generous grant of $10,000 to support critical early intervention services for infants and toddlers who are blind or have low vision, as well as their families, in Floyd County, Indiana.

The partnership between VIPS and the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County is grounded in a shared goal to create opportunities for children and families in need. The foundation’s funding directly supports VIPS’ ability to deliver early intervention services, such as home visits by expert teachers, parent training, and access to assistive technology and adaptive materials. By working together, VIPS and the Caesars Foundation of Floyd County aim to make a lasting impact on children’s lives, fostering independence, confidence, and the skills they need to thrive in school and beyond.

Dallas’s mom really wanted him to be able to play independently. During a recent visit, we explored several switch options that would activate a toy. After a few attempts, he got the hang of it and was able to activate the switch on his own! The smile says it all! Way to go Dallas! We are so proud of you!

VIPS Indiana Families! You are invited to read, write, talk, and play with Daniel Tiger at the VIPS Family Resource Center in Indianapolis. Please join us on Saturday, July 18 , from 9:30 to 11:30 am. You’ll meet Daniel Tiger, create crafts, and read during storytime. Activities will be adapted for all children and abilities, including those with blindness or low vision. Accommodations for those with sensory issues will be utilized. Snacks will be provided, and free parking available. LIMITED SPACE. Only 20 spots for children are available. Thank you to WFYI and PBS Kids for making this event possible.
