Graphics with event details listed in post

The Louisville East Lions Club, in partnership with the Indy Thunder, invite the public to The Sounds of Beep Baseball on Saturday, June 27, from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Kenwood Heights Christian Church, located at 5620 Newcut Road, Louisville, Kentucky.

The community event will introduce attendees to beep baseball, an adaptive version of baseball designed for athletes who are blind or visually impaired. Guests will have the opportunity to learn about the sport and participate in live demonstrations from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

The event will also feature a screening of the documentary Thunder Rolls: The World of Blind Baseball, presented with audio description for individuals who are blind or have low vision. Organizers hope the event will help raise awareness about both adaptive sports and the importance of accessibility in entertainment and media.

Members of the Indy Thunder team, along with general manager and assistant coach Darnell Booker, will be present for demonstrations and audience interaction. The Indy Thunder are one of the most successful teams in the sport, having won six of the last nine NBBA World Series championships while completing an undefeated 26–0 season in 2025.

In addition to the sports demonstrations and movie presentation, exhibitors from organizations serving individuals who are blind or visually impaired will be on hand to share information about low vision services, assistive technology, education, and community resources available throughout the region. The Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation Vision Van will also be on site to provide free vision screenings for both adults and children, helping to promote early detection and awareness of vision-related conditions.

Light snacks will be provided, and a commemorative tote bag will be given to the first 250 participants.

12:00 PM — Doors open to the public

1:00 PM — Program begins

Eleanor is the sweetest little lady who has been blowing our minds lately with her progress! She is successfully reaching for and grasping items with both hands, clapping, grabbing her feet, looking in the mirror, turning pages of books, and loves to use the switch on the light board. Her sweet little eyes still get tired quickly, but she works hard to process the world around her anytime she is alert. Three cheers for Eleanor!
