Distinctive Houses of Louisville is now on sale at Carmichaels
Bookstores (both locations: 2720 Frankfort Avenue and 1295 Bardstown
Road). This book features thirty-two (32) notable residences within the
metro Louisville region, such as Greystone Gables in New Albany, Conrad
Caldwell House on St. James Court, and Colonial Hall near Cherokee Park.
The styles range from traditional to modern, and in period from 1837 to
2011. Local architect and historian Steve Wiser, AIA, wrote the text and Dan Madryga provided the photography. Steve and Dan also teamed up to publish the book Modern Houses of Louisville in 2010. Steve Wiser has written several other local design-oriented books such as Sites to See by DESIGN and Louisville Tapestry: People and Places that helped create Americas Most Livable City. This book is all color, hard cover, 100 pages, and retails for $25.00. All proceeds benefit the Visually Impaired Preschool Services (VIPS).
